Both PureVPN and PrivateVPN offer secure and cost-effective VPN services with plenty of features. PureVPN has the greater number of servers and server locations, while PrivateVPN has better speeds, maintains a strict no-logging policy, and can be used on more devices simultaneously. Both offer great security features including your choice of tunneling protocols, strong encryption, and a kill switch. Neither have bandwidth or downloading limits, and both can access geoblocked content and streaming sites, including Netflix. Additionally, both also offer anonymous payment options, live chat customer service, and easy-to-install native apps. However, PureVPN allows for greater customization, with a wider range of connection and security options, including tailored connection modes, split tunneling, and leak protection. PrivateVPN has longer waiting times on its live chat channel and agents aren’t always available, whereas PureVPN’s support team responds 24/7. However, when PrivateVPN’s staff does respond, they are very helpful and knowledgeable.

PrivateVPN advertises itself as one of the best VPNs for streaming at a low price. It also claims to have great torrenting support, strong security features, and a true no-logs policy. But PrivateVPN is a small company, so can it compete with the biggest VPNs? To learn the answer, I tested out everything it offers. My global team and I found out if it really lets you stream securely in the bes...

    Works Great for many years.

I've been using their service for a great many years, and I'm very pleased indeed. Great service and s... upport, and more than enough speed for covering my needs. As long as they have coverage in countries I need to connect to, the number of servers in total is less relevant, as long as the servers they Do have provide enough speeds. They also support Wireguard, which is seldom mentioned in these reviews, probably since they don't have it in their native app, but they do and it's rock solid using that with their provided config files, and that in and of itself also increases the connection speeds, at least for me. All in all, they provide anything and all I want from a VPN provider. What others see as a downside, split tunneling and such, I see as a strength. I want my VPN provider to stick their nose in my business as little as possible, but rather provide a "clean VPN line" and then let Me decide what to do with my routing table. In short, they're Great, for my needs, but others will have to test and make up their own minds. :-DMore

    Been There

I've been using PrivateVPN for a year. The main reason was due to good price. It's slow, on certain ho... urs of the day you can't watch video smoothly. They have down time or some other problem frequently and it take ages to fix it. Customer support are so poor that my mum without IT knowledge could probably do a better job. Now I switched to another one and feelings for PrivateVPN is much worse because I have something to compare withMore

PureVPN (which recently purchased Ivacy) is a highly rated and affordable VPN, but it has had its share of controversies. A previous incident involving the FBI severely impacted its reputation. So, has it done enough to rebuild trust since then? To find out, my team and I investigated its privacy policy and everything else it offers. We tested its speeds, streaming performance, security featur...

An excellent value, all things considered

While they will absolutely throttle p2p in most servers, it's easy to find and log into the p2p server... s. They responded promptly when I had questions (although once it was basically to say "sorry, tough luck"). Overall though, I think I paid something like $20 for a year's subscription - I really can't complain. I'm sold on the service, although I think the fact that it's based out of HK is a bit spooky. 9/10More

Not Private! They cooperate with FBI! Application will NOT CLOSE (only minimizes)

PureVPN COOPERATES WITH FBI INVESTIGATIONS! You can verify this with any search! PureVPN REQUIRES ... USERS TO PROVIDE REAL NAME TO USE THE SERVICE! VPN Does NOT Support Close Application, Against Windows Standards! Close Actually Minimizes and it Keeps Running. Company refuses to change this back (used to operate correctly) A clear violation of your rights as owner of your PC.More

    Best VPN by Category

    Best VPN Overall

PureVPN and PrivateVPN both offer a range of useful features and security measures, along with user-friendly native apps that are easy to navigate. PureVPN offers greater customization and a larger server network. Meanwhile, PrivateVPN servers deliver faster speeds, and the provider’s verified no-logging policy assures you of complete anonymity.

    Best VPN for Torrents

Both PureVPN and PrivateVPN support torrenting on their networks. PureVPN limits these activities to specific servers and locations. While PrivateVPN does not limit P2P access, the provider does recommend using its Swedish servers for torrenting. PrivateVPN also offers a strict no-logs policy that ensures you leave no footprints.

    Best VPN for Windows

Both vendors work well on the Windows platform, with intuitive apps that are easy to set up and use. With PrivateVPN, you’ll benefit from virtual remote help if you encounter any problems, whereas PureVPN gives you access to knowledgeable support agents 24/7 through the live chat feature.

    Best VPN for Android

PrivateVPN and PureVPN both have native apps for Android devices that are user-friendly and offer stable connections. PrivateVPN offers the quicker speeds, while PurePVN has the larger network and more customizable features.

    Best VPN for Mac

PureVPN and PrivateVPN both offer dedicated Mac OS apps. Downloading and installing the software is straightforward with both providers, as is setting up your connection. PrivateVPN, however, offer higher speeds overall.

    Best VPN for iOS

Both vendors have dedicated iOS apps that are simple to navigate. PureVPN users benefit from a larger server network and tailored connection modes, while PrivateVPN users benefit from faster speeds, reliable connections, and virtual remote help.

    Best VPN for USA

Both vendors have servers within the United States, with PureVPN having the greater number, spread across 13 locations. Both can bypass geo-restrictions on US streaming services, including Netflix and Hulu. PrivateVPN’s faster connections give it an advantage for streaming.

    The Bottom Line

Both of these VPNs have a lot to offer, but they have different strengths. They both have strong encryption, offer a range of other security features, support torrenting, have no download or bandwidth restrictions, and can access geo-restricted content. While PureVPN boasts the larger network and more customizable features, PrivateVPN takes a stricter approach to privacy and allows a greater number of connections per account. At the finish line, PrivateVPN pulls ahead thanks to a no-logs policy and higher speeds for streaming and torrenting.
