CyberGhost and StrongVPN are two very reputable VPN service providers known for security and multi-platform compatibility. You can download apps for either VPN on MacOS, Windows, iOS, and Android devices. Both providers offer your choice of the L2TP, SSTP, OpenVPN, IPSec, and IKEv2 VPN protocols, an assurance that no connection logs will ever be kept, and a 30-day money-back guarantee on all subscription plans. A 24/7 live chat support option is available to users of either VPN.

While CyberGhost has consistently delivered topnotch service over the years, StrongVPN has had to overcome a spell of bad reviews and expand its service. StrongVPN now offers thousands of dedicated IPs, whereas CyberGhost only offers shared IPs. CyberGhost, however, operates a large network of over 2,700 servers in 60+ countries, compared to StrongVPN’s comparatively smaller network of over 650 servers in 26 countries. Another small difference is that CyberGhost allows up to seven simultaneous device connections compared to StrongVPN’s five.

Read on to see how they compare against each other across several categories.

They say you get what you pay for, but CyberGhost offers low prices and still claims to be one of the best. Subscriptions come as low as $2.03/month, so that much can’t be debated. But, can it really compete with its top-ranking competitors while charging so little? Over the course of several weeks, we put CyberGhost through an extensive evaluation. We analyzed its privacy policy, stress-test...

CyberGhost does not connect automatically in pc when I connect online. Why? And on my phone (Android)...  it sometimes gets stuck, it does not open the app when vpn is working. I have to connect the VPN in my phone settings first. That is pretty annoying.More

StrongVPN is one of the oldest VPNs, and many people praise it. However, its monthly plans don't offer a money-back guarantee, and you may find it too expensive if you only need a VPN for a short time. To determine whether it's worth the yearly commitment, my team and I tested every aspect of StrongVPN, including speed, security features, and a thorough investigation of its privacy policy. Ov...

    Best VPN by Category

    Best VPN Overall

CyberGhost has a spotless track record of delivering a very secure service. This consistency, coupled with its larger server network, turns this VPN comparison in CyberGhost’s favor overall. Thanks to many recent improvements, however, StrongVPN also offers a reliable VPN service with its network of 650+ servers.

    Best VPN for Torrents

CyberGhost offers dedicated high-speed servers optimized for torrenting and is the ideal choice for P2P activities. StrongVPN also allows torrenting on its servers and, like CyberGhost, places no restrictions on speed or bandwidth.

    Best VPN for Windows

If you need a Windows VPN client that gives comprehensive security including malware protection, CyberGhost is the service for you. StrongVPN, however, remains competitive with its Windows client by offering accessing to over 50,000 dedicated IPs.

    Best VPN for Android

CyberGhost for Android features a 7-day free trial and a very user-friendly app that’s easy to set up and connect. StrongVPN competes well in this category, though, with a dedicated Android app with a feature that automatically selects the fastest server nearby.

    Best VPN for Mac

CyberGhost has a dedicated MacOS app that provides total defense against tracking and features unlimited server switching. StrongVPN also has a secure MacOS app, with 256-bit encryption and support for VoIP services like Skype.

    Best VPN for iOS

With support for up to seven simultaneous connections, CyberGhost is the ideal choice for users with multiple iOS and Apple devices and gadgets. Meanwhile, StrongVPN’s iOS app keeps you safe with public WiFi protection to help shield your internet activities from prying eyes.

    Best VPN for USA

The ability to select hundreds of servers from different US cities makes CyberGhost a very tough VPN to compete with for the USA. It also provides seamless access to geoblocked content from US providers and websites like Netflix. StrongVPN also maintains some US servers and although it doesn’t advertise its ability to access websites like Netflix, it is usually able to do so.

    The Bottom Line

Although StrongVPN has an impressive service, CyberGhost comes out on top when these two VPNs are directly compared. CyberGhost not only offers a larger network and more advanced features, but also provides users with more consistent speeds and a more user-friendly service on any platform. And although both VPNs have a 24/7 live chat feature, CyberGhost’s support agents are more likely to resolve your concerns without redirecting you to open a ticket. Finally, if you don’t mind subscribing to their 3-year plan, CyberGhost also offers a more affordable premium VPN service.
