Astrill offers a 7-day free trial and a restricted 7-day money-back guarantee, while Ivacy comes with a solid 30-day money-back guarantee. Important. Ivacy VPN has merged with PureVPN, creating the new 'Ivacy Powered by PureVPN.' Existing Ivacy users won't lose any features as all clients have been automatically migrated to PureVPN. Ivacy is a long-running VPN with some of the cheapest subscriptions around. It also offers a popular free version and an extensive server network with many rare locations. But is it actually safe or trustw...

Not sure where all these negative thoughts come from.

Never had a problem connecting my desktop pooters with Ivacy. Had minor problem connecting my IOS devi... ce to my dedicated European IP but that was soon sorted. I daresay most of the negativity comes from the younger generation who have no patience. Staff at Ivacy who helped this 75yr old were awesome and ever helpful. Keep at it guys! I'd give them 9.5.More

    Terrible support

I was a customer 6 years ago. They still email me frequently, despite me unsubscribing many times and ... reaching out to their customer support 8+ times. If Ivacy can't get this right then I wouldn't trust any other promise that they make.More

Astrill VPN is one of the most popular VPNs to use in China. But it's also one of the most expensive VPNs available and doesn't have a money-back guarantee. With such a big investment, is it still the best VPN for China, and should you try it if you're located elsewhere? After my tests, I can confirm it's an excellent VPN for China but falls short in other areas. It offers slow speeds and clunky a...

Been using it for a long time.. but have to go

I have been using Astrill for more than 10 years. Never had a problem. A couple of times I used the ch... at for support and it was excellent. However this is probably going to be my last year. Reason .... price. With the virus crisis I am unemployed and can not afford it. They do not give any kind of discount and keep raising the price year after year. I am not in China so I suspend it, I do not need all those features.More

Don’t even think of it if you own Apple products

Worst VPN ever. Unreliable, unstable. It’s utterly expensive. Forget about streaming. Apple products a... re almost useless with it. Technical support team answers are pretty much like “Why don’t you turn it off and on?”. Please don’t waste your money as I did. They don’t even have a refund policy!More

    Best VPN by Category

    Best VPN Overall

Ivacy provides a very user-friendly and fast service that’s reliable for getting past tough geoblocks and keeping you anonymous. It’s also the more budget-friendly service. Astrill also provides a reliable service with many advanced security features and support for numerous encryption protocols.

    Best VPN for Torrents

Ivacy is the ideal provider for torrenting anonymously, as it provides dedicated P2P servers optimized for high-speed downloads. Astrill also supports torrenting on its servers, but has less favorable terms of service when it comes to assuring the anonymity and safety of torrenters.

    Best VPN for Windows

Ivacy provides a robust Windows app that features split tunneling, a kill switch, and strong encryption. Meanwhile, Astrill offers a very secure Windows app that protects you from DNS/IP leaks and has a very user-friendly design.

    Best VPN for Android

Ivacy users get a dedicated Android app with advanced leak and wi-fi protection, along with access to dedicated IP addresses at an additional cost. One of the best features of Astrill’s app for Android is an advanced Stealth VPN protocol.

    Best VPN for Mac

Ivacy offers a very user-friendly app for MacOS, featuring an internet-based kill switch and split tunneling. Astrill’s native MacOS client features an intuitive design and includes strong encryption and a NAT firewall.

    Best VPN for iOS

From streaming your favorite shows to keeping your online activity private, you’ll appreciate Ivacy’s iOS app, with its neat user-interface, dedicated streaming feature, and one-click access to 24/7 customer support. One of the standout features of Astrill’s service for iOS is the app’s Smart Mode, which allows you to choose which kinds of traffic go through the VPN.

    Best VPN for USA

Ivacy has a reliable US service that seamlessly bypasses restrictions on Netflix, Hulu and many other US content providers from any location worldwide. Ivacy also claims to allow you to run Netflix-US on up to six devices simultaneously. However, Astrill VPN goes further by providing dedicated US servers that are especially reliable for unblocking Netflix and similar sites.

    The Bottom Line

While these two providers offer similar levels of service in terms of features, Ivacy comes out as the winner here by providing more budget-friendly subscriptions, a wider server network, and a more generous refund policy that lasts 30 days. Ivacy also provides very beautiful apps that are easy to use on all major platforms. Additional features like a dedicated streaming mode add value for Ivacy users. Nevertheless, Astrill does have a number of attractive features, including its ability to work in China.
