Not to be confused with the more popular PrivateVPN, this PrivateVPN is a newly launched business service offered by VPN One Click, based in Seychelles. PrivateVPN allows you to connect to 200 dedicated VPN servers with dedicated IP addresses in 12 countries (Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, India, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Singapore, UK, and USA). This means that you will actually have a server to yourself and full control over all data that it handles, but 12 countries sounds pretty restrictive when you compare it to well-known VPNs providers.
Designed more for businesses and organizations than home use, PrivateVPN plans allow for connection of up to 50 devices simultaneously to the dedicated server. The provider offers custom apps for Windows, Mac OS, iOS, and Android. Installing PrivateVPN on any device is easy. All you need to do is to follow the wizard. Then just pick a server and connect. It’s that simple! The app interface is visually inviting, intuitive, and user-friendly, but not very advanced. You can use the 3-day free trial to take it for a spin. However, during the trial you can only access one VPN server of your choice, so make sure to choose one in a country that will work well for your purposes.
PrivateVPN gives you unlimited bandwidth and unthrottled connection speed. Unfortunately, because this service is intended primarily for business use, P2P file sharing isn’t permitted and you can’t get access to popular streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, or the BBC iPlayer. Furthermore, if you need a VPN for China, PrivateVPN isn’t for you. It doesn’t work there.
While PrivateVPN claims to offer advanced security and encryption levels, we find such claims very doubtful since IKEv2 is the only protocol supported. Moreover, the absence of a kill switch and lack of other obfuscation tools like Double VPN make this VPN less desirable for advanced VPN users. On the other hand, like its parent company, the PrivateVPN service is very serious about customer privacy.
Taking advantage of its privacy-friendly location in Seychelles, PrivateVPN strictly follows its pledge to keep no logs. PrivateVPN prices are higher than we would expect from an average VPN service, but of course, most average VPNs don’t include dedicated servers and 50 device connections.
The available subscription plans are monthly, semi-annual, and annual (cheapest). To our disappointment, PrivateVPN offers a very limited number of payment methods and doesn’t accept cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. You can only pay through the iTunes App Store, the Google Play Store, or PayPal.
As for PrivateVPN’s customer support, it is only available through email by creating a support ticket, but the responsiveness is excellent. We had a lot of questions about the service that aren’t answered on the website, so we contacted PrivateVPN support by submitting a ticket. After exactly 2 hours, we received a very detailed and informative response that answered all of our questions.
Important. This VPN is primarily marketed towards businesses. Unlike most personal VPNs we review, it's not necessarily designed for activities like streaming and gaming. Therefore, consider that its overall score may be impacted since we grade every VPN using the same categories. To make an informed decision, read on to see how the VPN performed in the areas that matter most to your business.
