When you are looking for a VPN service, you want quality, security, and features. BlackVPN, which is based out of Kowloon, Hong Kong, is able to offer all of those things and more, making it a good choice for many out there in need of a trustworthy VPN. They’ve’ been rated as one of the most reliable and fastest VPN services, and they have 100Mbit and 1000Mbit connections, alongside premium vendors like ExpressVPN. That's where the similarities end. Unlike ExpressVPN, BlackVPN can't reliably unblock Netflix and other popular US streaming services.

One of the biggest concerns people have when they choose a VPN is whether the company logs any of their information or not. With BlackVPN, you never have to worry about logs. They do not have DNS logs, they do not keep traffic logs, and they do not even have connection logs. However, they do keep your email address and your payment history. The company offers servers in a number of different locations all around the world including the United States, Canada, Brazil, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, and Singapore.

When you use BlackVPN, your real IP address will not be shown to the services or sites that you visit and use. All of the traffic is encrypted, which means you do not have to worry about the ISP or the government monitoring your activity on the web.

They also offer a number of different VPN routers including a TV router, privacy router, global router, and single VPN router. You are able to use BlackVPN with a number of different types of operating systems and devices including Windows, Mac, Linux, routers, Android, iOS, pfSense, and Windows Phone. They offer L2TP/IPSec (4), OpenVPN, and PPTP. You are able to use BlackVPN on up to three devices at a single time, and each of those devices can be used to connect to different VPN locations if you choose. While it claims to be unable to unblock Netflix US, the ability to bypass the streaming services IP blockers is inconsistent at best.

The company does not offer a free trial, but they do have a 14-day money back guarantee. It is a no questions asked refund. Simply let the company know, within 14 days, if you need to get a refund. If you have any issues with the service, whether it is during the setup or while you are using it, you can contact their customer support for help.

BlackVPN offers a number of benefits to the users, but they do have their own set of rules by which the customers need to abide. Those rules are that you cannot spam, you cannot hack, do no harm to others, and do not do P2P on servers outside of the privacy locations. Naturally, they also have their full Terms of Service, which you will want to read before you sign up with them.

Not sure if BlackVPN is for you? Check out ExpressVPN instead, and get the features you need to consistently unblock Netflix. With super-fast speeds, top-level security, and simultaneous connections on up to six devices, there's a reason why it's our #1 recommended VPN.

The Bottom Line

No logs and broad compatibility, but lacking elsewhere

BlackVPN encrypts all traffic and doesn't maintain logs containing user online activity, so your privacy is always intact when you're using the service. It's also compatible with a host of devices, including Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, and Linux.

While BlackVPN can unblock Netflix, it can't consistently do so, possibly leaving you without the ability to stream for a while until it finds another way in. Its customer support is also lacking: While you can submit a ticket easily enough, there may be times when it takes days for customer support to respond.

Got scammed by them

As already said by others in recent reviews, they do not respond to your messages. They are scamming users. I already paid for a year but I received no login information and the "send username" function has broken down. I paid for a full year but I ended up with really nothing. I will now try to get the money refunded by the payment provider that they use, I really regret not using my credit card with insurance for this particular purchase.

Don't touch it

Has stopped working on all devices, with 4 months of an annual subscription remaining. No response from "Support". Before that, it got slower and some locations not working. The advertised promise of an IOS iPhone app version (like other VPNs provide) was always a lie.

They are Frauds

Payment to them is still intact, but everything else if not. If you buy the service from them it will not be delivered and PayPal will of course not intervene so you basically lose your money. Don't give them any more money!
